Termenators Daily Newz for January 4, 1999 For AWESOME news and GREAT reporting go to http://www.wrestlinggazette.com/lowdown/. You'll see why they are da best.... If You want to subscribe to one of the Most talked about newsletters ever, The Real Deal of Pro Wrestling, e-mail---> [email protected] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * The next WWF wrestling video game coming out, Attitude, which comes out in the Fall of 1999, will also contain wrestlers HBK, Gangrel, Edge, and Owen Hart in it as I didnt mention them in one of my past reports. Also, the game will have a 30-man battle royal, a Hell in a Cell mode, a weapons mode, a tag team mode, a challenge mode, a war mode, and a tornado match mode. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Bam Bam Bigelow no-showed the December 30 WCW Philadelphia, Pennsylvania house show because his wife was in labor. He was replaced by the Giant in a three-way dance match with Nash and Goldberg. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Tickets for Guilty As Charged range from $25-$100 and are still available for sale. To get the tickets call TicketMaster at 407-839-3900, 954-523-3309, 305-358-5885 or 561-966-3309 or the Millennium Theater at407-397-9800. As always, card is subject to change. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Eric Bischoff and Ted Turner made an agreement with Vince McMahon a while ago that neither federation would book FREE prime time shows up against the others companys Pay-Per-View events. But since now WCW signed a deal with NBC to show WCW programming across the nation, McMahon is extremely pissed. Because of this action that Bischoff took, it looks like McMahon will retaliate soon in the future. In addition, all six WCW/NBC shows will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Sable will be at the Springfield Civic Center on Saturday, January 9 from 12- 1 PM to promote ticket sales for the WWF February 21 show. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Today, the Major Junior Hockey Tournament will be on instead of RAW during from 8 to 11 PM on TSN in Canada. RAW, however, will once again be aired from 12 to 2 AM on Monday night. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Since Eddie Guerrero is really injured after the car accident in which he was involved in on New Years Eve, Juventud Guerrera will now be replacing him in the WCW house show matches as he teams with Chris Jericho against Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko. Speaking of Guerrero, he is now back in home and is being treated by a nurse there. He received stitches in his leg, a broken hip, and a punctured lung or kidney as a result of the car accident. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Ken Shamrock will be getting arthroscopic surgery on his elbow on 1/5 by doctor Frank Jones. He will return to action at the Royal Rumble on January 24 and he may make a couple of TV appearances before that date but he wont be wrestling. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * More injures: Ciclope- blood buildup in knee Dean Malenko- ankle Scott Hall- knee Stevie Ray- back muscle pull Billy Kidman- knee, sprained groin, torn rotator cuff -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Sting returned under his Wolfpac gimmick at a WCW house show yesterday. However, when Nash and Hogan reunite to form the original nWo look for him to return to the crow look/gimmick. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * The Al Snow-blood bath angle will be played out to show the history of Al Snows past. Look for it to end in the March of 1999. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Souled out will be the first WCW PPV to air in French. Canal Indigo will broadcast every WCW PPV starting with Souled Out from now on and Rick Martel will be a French color commentator for the PPV. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Future PPV wrestling dates: January 24- Royal Rumble: No Chance In Hell- Anaheim, California February 14- In Your House: St. Valentines Day Massacre- Memphis, Tennessee March 28- WrestleMania 15: Road Rage- Philadelphia, Pennsylvania April 25- In Your House- Hartford, Connecticut May 23- In Your House- Kansas City, Missouri June 27- King of the Ring- Greensboro, North Carolina- Complex Coliseum July 25- In Your House- Buffalo, New York August 29- Summerslam- Minneapolis, Minnesota-Target Center -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * ECW has signed Super Crazy for one year. In his contract, it stated that ECW will fly him to Mexico every six weeks. Also, Yoshihiro Tajiri has signed a three-year contract with ECW. While both men will wrestle in ECW, they will both live in Philadelphia. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Before, there was talk that a Tank Abbott/Bart Gunn Brawl for All match might happen, however, it now wont as Tank Abbott wanted too much money for the match, $55,000. Anyways, now look for Bart Gunn to either face Steve Williams upon his return at the next Raw tapings or for Bart Gunn to face Kimo. By the way, if any one has any information on Kimo, please send it to me through my e-mail address, [email protected] as I would really appreciate it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * 2 Much vs. Blue Meanie and Duane Gill has been added to the Royal Rumble PPVA lineup. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Scotty Riggs recently got a new gimmick. He now has his own entrance music and no longer wears an eye patch like he used to. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Tonight on Nitro, look for the 4 Horsemen and Ric Flair, Hollywood Hogan, Kevin Nash, Goldberg, Lex Luger, Booker T. and Stevie Ray to all be there. The Sandman, Chastity, and Sting might appear as well and Eddie Guerrero PROBABLY wont be there because of the recent car accident he was involved in. Any way you look at it, it comes out to be a major Nitro show. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * An interesting e-mail that I received from [email protected]: I just read your news report for Jan. 3rd. I saw you said something about the WWF trying to get Adam Sandler to appear at WM 15. I live in Stamford, CT. (home of the WWF) and I just wanted to tell you that last night some of my friends and I went to see Waterboy. About 15 minutes into the movie, who should walk in and sit right next to us - Vince McMahon along with his wife (Linda) and daughter (Stephanie). Now that you posted this about Sandler in the WWF by WM 15, it all makes sense why McMahon went to see Waterboy, for both The Giant and Adam Sandler. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Termenator's Daily Newz for November 25, 1998
Termenators Daily News for Nov. 25, 1998 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * The rumors about WCW doing a tour in Australia in May are becoming stronger once again. Dave Meltzer says that Eric Bischoff has yet to OK the deal. This depends on whether or not there will be an NBA season this year. If there will be a season, Monday Nitro would not a big rank by WCW during the NBA playoffs, so this would give WCW a chance to send its stars over to Australia to wrestle. But if an NBA season is not going to happen this year, WCW would not send its stars over to Australia to do a tour because they know they can get better ratings during their usual on-air time on TNT using its big name stars. WWF is also considering doing a tour in Australia next year. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * The WWF is already trying to hire celebrities to appear at their biggest PPV of the year, WrestleMania 15. From what I hear, they are interested in Shaquille O Neal as well as Mike Tyson to appear at the event. Shaquille O Neal seems a possibility because he has appeared on Raw recently and since now because of the NBA lockout. However, Iron Mike Tyson just recently got his boxing license back so an appearance from him is unlikely. Also the WWF doesnt want to get Dennis Rodman, but he would be one of top picks if there is to be a shortage. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * The rumors/news of Hollywood Hogan retiring are getting bigger than ever and have been hitting newspapers recently. From what I have heard, he will take about 4-6 months off (thats his retirement) and then come back to ring action. If you remember correctly, he was slated to take about 2 months off back in August because of the ratings, schedule, and injuries and that never happened, so this could be why he is taking time off/retiring now. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * There have been rumors that Tammy Lynn Sytch and Chris Candido have been fired/let go from ECW because they no-showed the FMW PPV in order to nurse an ill family member. That rumor is apparently false, and they have just recently (in August) signed exclusive 5-year deals with ECW till 2003. Paul Heyman (owner of ECW) also denied the rumors. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Weekend and Monday Night Ratings: WWF LiveWire- 2.0 (highest ever) WWF Superstars- 1.9 WWF Sunday Night Heat- 4.1 WWF Raw Is War/War Zone- 4.85 (Hour 1- 4.7, Hour 2- 5.0) WCW Monday Nitro- 4.5 (Hour 1- 5.0, Hour 2- 4.4, Hour 3- 4.1) (Raw wins head-to-head with a 4.9 to a 4.3) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * DDP is now a booker in WCW. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * This is the last WCW World War 3 battle royal we will probably see. One reason is because it takes so much work to set up the three rings and the fans in attendance cannot see well this way with the three rings. Another reason is because it takes so much work to get all 60 wrestlers involved in it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * The Giant has told WCW last week that he is leaving WCW to go to the WWF around the new year. He is stating that he got a 1 million-dollar a year offer from the WWF to go there. Meltzer says that other sources say there is an offer from the WWF on the table for five years at six figures. However, WCW is confident and positive that he will stay because now since Hogan is retiring, or so for a certain amount of time, thus the Giant will be able to get more attention, spotlight, and TV time. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Look for Lex Luger to join the Outsiders when they reform and turn heel. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Dave Meltzer reports that ECW are already planning ahead for their 2 next PPVs (Guilty As Charged and the March PPV). For the upcoming January PPV (Guilty As Charged) he says that ECW is thinking of have Masato Tanaka wrestle Mr. Monday Night Rob Van Dam as well as a three-way dance between Mikey Whipwreck, Jerry Lynn, and Lance Storm w/Tammy Lynn Bytch. For the March PPV, he states that ECW is thinking of have Taz vs. Shane Douglas for the ECW World Title, Terry Funk wrestle Tommy Dreamer, Rob Van Dam wrestle Jerry Lynn, and Justin Credible wrestle Masato Tanaka. These are just some early thoughts and matches and card is subject to change. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Mark Canterbury will be out for another 2 to 3 months because he is healing from his neck injury. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * The WWF is interested in pro wrestler Rhino Richards. He will have to first attend a WWF training camp before he wrestles on WWF televising if he does indeed signed with them. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Ahmed Johnson might be back in the WWF in 2 to 3 months. He will have a new gimmick and attitude upon his return. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * What Happened When Nitro Went Off The Air?- During the commercial break after Duncum Jr. tied up JPS security member Rufus, Chris Jericho attempted to untie him, which was the funniest thing ever. As Scott Hall came out and kicked Rufus, Jericho was asking the fans to help him untie Rufus. Finally, "someone" helped out Jericho and "saved" Rufus. Now, after Nitro went off the air, Goldberg did finally get a chance to spear Nash in the ring, which Nash sold very cleanly. Then security seperated them and they cleared the ring. Before the tapings, Wildcat Willie came out to liven the tired crowd up, and was rewarded with 2 beer shots to the beast. The tapings started at 11:15pm est. Backstage: Many of the wrestlers would not say to much about there next angles, but Norman Smiley had something to say, and that was don't underestimate him. Remember, he was once a #1 contender for the World Title. Now I did hear many say that indeed Hogan will announce that this Thursday he will retire from wrestling, so put all those thoughts of Ryder fibbing alone, the former ICON is now done with active wrestling. The Sandman WAS backstage again. Savage was not. Credit: JP -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * There is some talk that Triple H might appear on the live Raw this upcoming Monday and do a small interview. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Some current wrestlers wrestling with injuries are Booker T., who has a small bad rib and a recently operated knee. Also Chris Benoit has been wrestling recently with that bad elbow of his. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * There is talk that when Butterbean and Bart Gunn do actually wrestle in the WWF it will be a total shoot (real). It will be a Brawl For All like type of match. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Steven Regal was sent home by the WWF this past week for some personal problems. It might be his alcohol abuse problem again. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * The WWF is letting Darren Puke Drozdov to take some time off after executing the Doomsday Device wrongly and hurting himself quite a bit. He should be back in action soon. Credit- Sam Hein -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Scorpio of PWI newsboard reports that the WWF currently has no date planned to start the construction of the Debbie Renalds Hotel and Casino to transform into a WWF type restaurant. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * ECW has still not decided as to where it would hold the Guilty As Charged PPV. However, 2 locations are currently being considered. One is the Knight Center in Miami, Florida. The other is the Millenium Center in Kissimmee, Florida. However, the Millenium Center is currently under construction and can only currently hold up to around 2,500 people/fans and ECW wants to try to get around 4,000 for this PPV. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * The WWF really screwed up on the Funeral building location on Raw. They stated that it was in San Jose California but as you could see by the flag hanging there it was in Ohio. The WWF production crew missed that little mistake and tried to make you believe that it was really in California.. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * OXFORD, England (BUSINESS WIRE) - Controversial Chairman and Owner of the World Wrestling Federation, Mr. Vince McMahon will be the Oxford Union speaking on his legendary empire. He will address Britain's brightest students and attempt to educate them on the finer points of America's greatest and most loved sport/entertainment institution. Termenators Daily News for Nov. 24, 1998 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Exposed! Pro Wrestlings Greatest Secrets replay got a 4.8 rating for the replay with an 8 share. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Apparently, the ending of the Stone Cold Steve Austin/Mankind match at Survivor Series was screwed up. What was originally planned to happen was for the Big Bossman to run out and start nailing Austin. However that didnt happen, and as you saw, Gerald Brisco ran out instead. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * More on the WCW/nWo Nitro Grill- The restaurant will also contain a gift shop with WCW/nWo paraphernalia and memorabilia that you could buy. WCW matches as well as PPVs will be shown on some TV monitors in the restaurant. At least one wrestler per week in scheduled to appear there. For more news on this story, read yesterdays Termenators Daily Newz (Termenators Daily Newz for November 23, 1998). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * The article about WWF women will be shown on Hard Copy this week. The airtime and date will soon be announced. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * The Warrior was backstage at Monday Nitro last week (November 16) but he didnt do anything on TV nor come out. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * ECW might be shown in Canada soon. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * New feuds scheduled to happen soon are the Debra McMichael/Sable feud and a Brood/J.O.B. If he will indeed appear and wrestle, he will team with DDP to face Bret Hitman Hart and a mystery partner. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Savio Vega might be returning from his injury to action in December. However, doctors are warning him that he should rest for about another 4 months before he is ready to wrestle. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * If Shawn Michaels injury doesnt get better soon he might have to retire from pro-wrestling action. However he will keep his commissioner spot and even maybe wrestle one match at some PPV. This will definitely draw huge ratings. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Stone Cold Steve Austin recently blacked out at a WWF house show in San Jose, California. This is a work and was made, as you could see yesterday, to help set up the upcoming Undertaker/Austin Buried Alive angle. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * The Rock recently attacked a fan by throwing punches at him at a house show on Friday at Bakersfield, California because the fan spat at him. This is not an angle and wont probably be mentioned on TV. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Ken Shamrock wants to do another UFC fight soon. However, he wants the approval of Vince McMahon. If he does wrestle it, it will be somewhere next year. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Finally, yesterday on Raw you saw McMahons stooges talking to the NAO on their way to the back. This will evolve into an angle where the NAO refuse to join Team Corporate after an offer from Vince, and feud with McMahon and his team. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
